Beggars in India
Begging in India:
Beggars are seen routinely in streets of cities. They are even got at begging. Many beggars have got monies stacked away. Most are habitually bound, it is an habit which is ingrained. Question is why do they beg in the first place. I think it is simply disgraceful that young boys and girls and adults are begging on streets. Corona pandemic has made this worse in India with so many tragedies which are unfolding. There are some nice stories emerging where good people are helping many people one off or few times as many good people have lost their support or income with loss of jobs and livelihood no matter how meagre.
People are begging and I am referring to habitual beggars because of mostly poverty. why are people poor? Because of lack of knowledge. Knowledge of what – lack of self respect. Even if there is self respect as I have seen some beggars have principles who will not have anything more than is essential. Begging is because vast majority are kept in the artificial boundary by false religious beliefs and habits. Many many beggars sit outside Temples in a line with a bowl for food and money. Even worse is apathy as vast majority of Indians are immune to this begging and simple ignore them as many beggars are not prepared to change their habits. Other Indians like to offer some food or small token to appease their karmic deeds – not because they should be doing the right thing for the correct reasons. Many offer biscuits to dogs and food to cows to gain good karmic deeds or ward of their negative karmic actions – this is simply self conceit. Others offer grains to birds to remove negative rahu and ketu and sani influence in their life. Why does Sani rahu and ketu not affect people so much in the west? Why? Why only in India? Mindset is the real problem, aided by false preachings and worship and perpetual astrologers who offer solutions of every kind every day…not to go in a certain direction on a Tuesday…offering food to sometimes black dogs only etc.
It is not knowing the truth about how they can get help from Creator is one of the big problems. The ones who are worshipped in Temples are all deities. Nobody decent likes to beg. It is a sort of ultimate humiliation.Government of the day and past governments have simply no solutions to this problems. When Politicians are passing through with Police sirens, these beggars are simply evacuated from the streets so they are not visible to them. After the Politicians depart, it is back to normal. I remember in Gandhinagar when PM Modi was arriving that some 500 tea makers were removed from the roads everywhere. This was to give a good clean impression of progress which is simply fake. To deny people’s meagre livelihood is a disgrace. The same and worse was repeated in Ahmedabad when Trump and Chinese premier were coming to Gandhi Ashram. I saw many many street sellers with their fruits and vegetables which were literally overturned and their contents thrown away by Police working at behest of councillors, their 4 wheel hand driven cycle were overturned. People who have very little are attacked by everyone rich and powerful. They simply do not have a voice. Many are beaten by Police or are too weak to complain in case of fear and reprisals.
Is India a country of Gods? I beg to differ. In India, name of God is completely covered up by entire religious hierarchy who are bent on covering up their sins. India is in a Tamopradhan state. In the name of God so many sins are committed…even God is silent…how many know who is God. I am being sentimental and thing they will Pray to Creator which only likes of Einstein Spinoza had searched for and which I have found.
